Epithalon (Epitalon, Epithalamin) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, modeled on the natural pineal gland peptide. In the research literature it is described as an anti-aging compound — it is sometimes called the „longevity peptide" — studied for telomerase activation, regulation of melatonin production and cellular renewal.
Epithalon belongs to the category peptides for skin, sleep and libido. It combines two areas: regeneration/aging and sleep — through its effect on the pineal gland and melatonin it is related both to the hormone Melatonin and to the sleep neuropeptide DSIP.
It is a research compound — it is not a medicinal product and holds no registration for clinical use in the EU. The product offered by Peptology is a research-grade reagent, not intended to diagnose, slow aging or treat any conditions in humans.
In the version offered by Peptology, Epithalon is available in a 50 mg vial as a lyophilized peptide of high purity, confirmed by independent laboratory analysis (CoA for every batch). The product is intended exclusively for scientific research and in vitro applications.
This page concerns a single dose variant — Epithalon 50 mg. Each vial contains 50 mg of lyophilized tetrapeptide. This is a large, „cycle-sized" amount — in research protocols Epithalon is usually used in 10-day cycles (once or twice a year), and a 50 mg vial is enough for a full cycle or several smaller series.

Epithalon is offered in the 50 mg variant. If you are researching a different sleep-regulation mechanism, check the neuropeptide DSIP (delta wave) or the hormone Melatonin (circadian rhythm).
In the research literature, Epithalon is described as a peptide acting at several levels related to cellular renewal and the circadian rhythm. Below are the three most frequently studied elements.
TELOMERASE
Studied for telomerase activation — the enzyme associated with the maintenance of telomeres and cell viability.
MELATONIN / PINEAL GLAND
Modeled on the pineal gland peptide — studied in the context of melatonin regulation and the circadian rhythm.
CELLULAR RENEWAL
Studied in the context of DNA repair, antioxidant protection and immune system function.
The pineal gland is a gland that produces melatonin and regulates the circadian rhythm. As an analog of the pineal gland peptide, Epithalon is studied simultaneously for sleep (melatonin) and cellular renewal (telomerase). This places it in the catalog at the intersection of „sleep" (like Melatonin and DSIP) and „regeneration".
It should be emphasized that claims of „slowing aging" come from research on the molecule (mainly preclinical and early clinical) and are not a confirmed effect of the research-grade product offered by Peptology.
Epithalon is a very short peptide (a tetrapeptide) with a „cycle" profile — used in series rather than continuously. The most important research features:
In the skin/sleep/libido category, three compounds concern sleep and regeneration, but at different levels. The table below helps orient you to how Epithalon differs from two related products.
| Epithalon (this page) | DSIP | Melatonin | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compound type | Tetrapeptide | Neuropeptide | Hormone |
| Main mechanism | Telomerase, pineal gland, melatonin | Sleep architecture (delta wave) | Circadian rhythm (when to sleep) |
| Main research area | Aging, regeneration + sleep | Deep sleep, stress (HPA) | Falling asleep, jet lag |
| Dose (this version) | 50 mg | 5 mg | 10 mg |
| Usage schedule | 10-day cycles (1–2 ×/year) | Daily or rotationally | In the evening, as needed |
Epithalon is a „cycle" regenerative-sleep peptide, DSIP acts on sleep depth, and Melatonin on its timing. This comparison is indicative in nature and does not constitute a recommendation for use.
Epithalon has been studied for several decades, mainly in the context of cellular aging and biological rhythms. Below are the most frequently explored directions — all at the research stage, without confirmed indications for the research-grade product.
The most recognizable direction of research on Epithalon concerns telomerase activation and the maintenance of telomeres. In cellular models it was associated with an extension of cell viability. These are laboratory observations that should not be equated with „extending life" in humans.
As an analog of the pineal gland peptide, Epithalon is studied for the regulation of melatonin production and improvement of the circadian rhythm — hence its presence in the „sleep" segment, alongside Melatonin and DSIP.
In studies, observations appear regarding the effect of Epithalon on immune system function and selected biomarkers associated with aging. These are research directions, not confirmed therapeutic applications.

All information provided concerns research literature on Epithalon and should not be interpreted as a promise of effect (including „slowing aging"), an instruction for use or a claim about the effect of the research-grade product offered by Peptology.
Important: The information below describes schedules used in research on Epithalon. It is provided for scientific and informational purposes and does not constitute a recommendation for individual use, medical advice or administration instructions. The research-grade Epithalon offered by Peptology is not a registered medicine.
In research protocols, Epithalon is usually administered after reconstitution of the lyophilizate, most often subcutaneously, in a cycle schedule:
In combination protocols, Epithalon is sometimes combined with regenerative peptides (like BPC-157 or GHK-Cu) in regeneration research. These schedules come from the research literature and do not constitute a recommendation for self-administration.
In research observations, Epithalon is described as well tolerated. The reported side effects are rare and mild. The data concern research on the molecule.
Rare (mild)
Tolerability profile
To consider
Most reported symptoms are mild and transient, and the cycle schedule limits exposure. This information is scientific in nature and does not constitute an instruction for use.
Epithalon is supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in a vial. In lyophilized form it is stable at room temperature, protected from light and moisture — refrigeration before reconstitution is not mandatory. After reconstitution, stability depends on the solvent used, with Peptide Matrix Water™ significantly extending the peptide's lifespan.
Laboratory tip: With your order, you can add Peptide Matrix Water™ to the cart — a stabilizing solution designed for working with reconstituted research peptides. More in the article Bacteriostatic water vs acetic acid vs matrix water.
It is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on the pineal gland peptide, studied for telomerase activation, melatonin regulation and cellular renewal. It is sometimes called the „longevity peptide". The results come from the research literature.
Epithalon combines regeneration (telomerase) with sleep (pineal gland/melatonin) in a cycle schedule. DSIP acts on sleep depth (delta wave), and Melatonin on the circadian rhythm (sleep timing).
The lyophilized vial is stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. After reconstitution, stability depends on the solvent: with Peptide Matrix Water™ — up to 60 days in the refrigerator +2 °C to +8 °C; with bacteriostatic or sterile water — up to 28 days. Avoid refreezing.

Room temperature, protected from direct light, in original packaging. Refrigerator not required.
AFTER RECONSTITUTION
+2 °C to +8 °C, up to 60 days with Peptide Matrix Water. Discard any remainder after this period.
FREEZING
Not recommended. Freeze/thaw cycles degrade peptide structure.
1. Shaking "to dissolve faster"
Foam = denaturation. Only gentle rolling between the palms.
2. Inappropriate solvent
For peptide stability use only sterile, specially formulated solvent — recommended Peptide Matrix Water.
3. Ignoring slight turbidity
Not fully clear = the sample does not meet the criteria for use.
4. Taking it out of the refrigerator "for an hour–two"
Short exposures add up and compromise stability.
